Born in Nova Scotia, Denise lived on Vancouver Island for 23 years before finally returning home to N.S. in 2008.

She is an artist who paints in acrylic on canvas and paper. Her impressionistic coastal horizons and seascapes are a way for Denise to explore concepts of solitude, connection, calm and harmony. Her work is not site specific but rather an emotional response inspired by her East Coast surroundings. Through simplicity and muted colours she hopes to leave the viewer with a sense of peace and calm.

Denise is always gratified when people express a feeling of calm, a sense of familiarity, or of having been there, when viewing her paintings.
